Founded in 1994, the fitness outreach that would become MAC Fitness began as a small ministry at what was then Richland Bible Church in Richland, Michigan—now known as GraceSpring Bible Church. Early offerings included STEP aerobics classes and childcare, quickly drawing a welcoming and diverse community. Among those participants was Angie Foster-Goodrich, who discovered not only a passion for fitness but also a calling to serve. She eventually transitioned from class attendee to instructor, deepening her commitment to both fitness and community outreach.
In 1999, Angie stepped into a leadership role, continuing and growing the ministry’s mission. Over the years, the program evolved to meet the changing needs of its participants by expanding class offerings and fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for individuals of all fitness levels.
In 2020, that mission expanded significantly when Angie partnered with Megan Haan and Colleen Valkema to formally establish MAC Fitness. United by a shared vision, they set out to broaden the reach of the ministry beyond a single location—creating opportunities for connection, wellness, and outreach through accessible fitness programming.
Today, MAC Fitness operates out of two locations—GraceSpring Bible Church and Northeastern Baptist Church—serving the greater Kalamazoo area. Alongside founders Angie, Megan, and Colleen, fitness professional Julie Holley brings additional expertise, helping MAC Fitness continue to grow and serve its community with excellence.
What began as a small church-based program has become MAC Fitness—a trusted, welcoming fitness community dedicated to health, connection, and encouragement for every body.
The mission of MAC Fitness is to share the love of Jesus and the benefits of physical fitness through high-quality exercise classes at affordable rates.
