Building Strong Bodies...
In 1994 a woman named Gail Hurn began a fitness outreach ministry at what was then, Richland Bible Church in Richland, MI. Initially the ministry provided STEP aerobics classes along with a childcare program which attracted many young mothers, including Angie Foster-Goodrich. Eventually, Angie became a STEP instructor and a full member of the church which changed its name to Gracespring.
In 1999 when Gail left the ministry, Angie felt called to carry it on and since then, has branched out bringing several new types of fitness classes to her loyal participants.
In 2020, Angie’s longtime friends and colleagues, Megan Haan and Colleen Valkema came alongside Angie to create MAC Fitness with an expanded vision of growing the ministry with more locations and classes.
Their ongoing mission is to provide outreach, connection, health, and wellness to people of all ages and abilities. The trio are now the founders of their original STRONG BODY fitness classes, and with the 2021 addition of fitness professional Julie Holley and the added location of Northeastern Baptist Church, MAC Fitness has expanded its reach and impact and continues to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can feel encouraged, supported and empowered, wherever they happen to be in their fitness journey.
MAC Fitness is excited to share these amazing photos of our community in action. Since we lead classes for multiple communities, you will see photos taken at several locations.
Every photo tells a story about a fitness experience that fits everybody!
