The fitness outreach ministry at Gracespring Church began way back at the former Richland Bible Church under RBC member Gail Hurn around the year 1994. This ministry originally started by offering STEP aerobics classes to local residents and was especially popular among ladies with young children due to its convenient babysitting program, giving moms a chance to exercise while their little ones were taken care of. This feature attracted Angie Foster-Goodrich to participate in classes, and after a bit of coaxing, she became a STEP instructor herself.
Angie had experienced much love and care from many members at RBC (eventually Gracespring). She and her family became regular members of the church, and after Gail decided it was time for her to leave the fitness outreach ministry, Angie felt the call to lead it herself. For the next 22 years, she has achieved more fitness certifications including: Pilates, Yoga, Barre, Refit and Rev+Flow, all of which she continues to lead today.
Recently, three friends and colleagues of Angie’s, Megan Haan, Colleen Valkema, and Julie Holley, have come alongside Angie to support her in leading all types of exercise classes. The three women have formed a group called MAC Fitness and they are excited to have Gracespring as their home base.
The vision of Gracespring’s Fitness ministry, now known as MAC Fitness, is to offer a full-spectrum of fitness services to provide outreach and connection for all ages and abilities to the Kalamazoo region.
Meet Megan an accomplished AFAA Certified Group Fitness Professional who brings immense enthusiasm and expertise to her classes. Her specialty lies in Barre, Integrated Strength, High Intensity Interval Training, Cardio Drumming and Cardio Dance fitness, which keeps her workouts fresh and innovative.

Julie has always been a fan of REFIT, and when the REV+FLOW format was introduced, she was so enthusiastic about it that she decided to get certified. As a result, she is now qualified to teach both REFIT and REV+FLOW classes, providing her participants with an engaging and challenging workout that helps them to improve their strength, flexibility, and overall fitness.
In addition to her fitness career, Julie has worked in the Women’s Health field for over 30 years. Her extensive knowledge of women's health issues has helped her to become a more well-rounded instructor, allowing her to tailor her classes to the specific needs of her participants.
